Peponi is a small hotel on the exotic island of Lamu. Here there are still no cars and the narrow streets of the old town have changed little over the years. This enchanting little village with eighteen traditional bajuni cottages is located on the Kenyan mainland in the remote Dodori National Reserve. Kisimani House is found in Shela Village on Lamu. It has been built like a fortress and has been beautifully furnished in Swahili style.

There are four en-suite bedrooms, miscellaneous single beds, a large open-air living/dining terrace and private verandas on the ground floor.

The two top floors have spectacular views of the ocean, the archipelago and of life in Shela village.

Lamu Palace hotel is located in Lamu town and directly on the seashore. It has 22 rooms all air-conditioned.

Tana Delta


Totally unspoilt, the Tana Delta Camp gives a taste of wilderness right on the Indian Ocean.

This unique camp is situated by the mouth of the mighty Tana River, north of Malindi Town, on a curve of a 30mile beach with huge sand dunes marking the edge of Unguana Bay, with Tana River on one side of the camp, the Indian Ocean on the other side.



Woburn Residence Club is located in Malindi, a 10-minute drive from the Malindi airport.

It is a quiet and exclusive place. There are one, two and three bed-roomed apartments all with air-conditioned bedrooms. They are large each with balcony, fully equipped kitchen and a small garden.

Funzi Keys is located in an unspoilt spot with an air of remoteness and under development. The hotel looks out over the ocean and offers dramatic views combined with a high degree of comfort, unparalleled on the east coast: Omani architecture, Lamu coral ceilings, arid mangrove poles and intricate plaster carvings. With just six spacious cottages set along the high water line, it's certainly a small exclusive retreat. There are many activities to take part in here, including boat trips, though the emphasis is on relaxation and exquisite food!


Shimoni Reef Hotel lies on the tip of Pemba Channel, part of a large bay making up the Shimoni archipelago and is very oriented towards ocean sports and island discovering.

It is made up of 47 open plan cottages, all with ocean view and private verandas. The rooms are 2 levels and can accommodate 4 persons.

A seawater swimming pool made up of multi-levels is ideal for kids and diving tuition.

Fresh seafood and other exotic delicacies are served in the open-air terrace restaurant.


The Pemba Channel Fishing Club is situated in the tiny fishing village of Shimoni, 80kms south of Mombasa.

A total of 20 guests can be accommodated in the simple white bandas set in tropical gardens.

The Clubhouse has an attractive, homely lounge filled with wicker sofas and overstuffed cushions, with bowls of shells and lots of fresh flowers.
